Once upon a time, in ancient China, there was a cunning fox spirit and a simple farmer who lived in the same village. One day, the fox spirit decided to play a trick on the farmer by stealing his most prized possession - a beautiful jade pendant.
The next morning, when the farmer woke up and found that his pendant was missing, he searched high and low but couldn't find it anywhere. He thought to himself, "I must have lost it somewhere." So he went about his daily chores as usual.
Meanwhile, the fox spirit had hidden the jade pendant in her den deep within the forest. She would often visit it just to admire its beauty. But one day while she was admiring it, she accidentally dropped it down a hole.
Feeling very sorry for herself because of what happened to her precious treasure - which now belonged to an unknown owner - she decided that since no one could ever know how much trouble I had taken over this small matter (the trouble I took), then I should be able to keep my story from being shared with anyone else so long as you do not tell anyone about me or anything related directly or indirectly concerning me (you must not tell) and never let anyone see your face again until all of these things are forgotten!
