He sought advice from Sun God Xunyu (God of Light) who dwelled atop Mount Tai along with Moon Goddess Chang'e (God of Night).

As time passed by dynasties rose & fell; empires expanded & contracted; wars raged across continents—yet through it all dragon myths persisted strong & vibrant till today! One such tale speaks about Great Serpent King Yimao who led his forces against invading armies during Middle Kingdom Period (c 1046 – c 256 BCE), protecting Chinese soil fiercely alongside its human defenders!
七、大禹治水记述，抗洪救民之英雄故事
The story continues: Great Yu fought against floods brought upon by flood-god Gonggong's rebellion after he became enraged when denied immortality by Heaven itself! As Yu battled tirelessly using Dragon-riding skills learned from wise old turtle-man Qiusheng ("Crested Turtle"), he managed to subdue these raging waters bringing life back to fertile plains once again!
